NOTICE TO MEMBERS
• ERGC faithfully abides by USGA Handicap system. Two basic premises underlie the USGA Handicap System, namely that (1.) Each player will try to make the best score possible at every hole in every round, regardless of where the round is played and (2.) That the player will post every acceptable round for peer review. The player and the player's Handicap Committee have a joint responsibility for adhering to these premises. The Handicap Committee has the ultimate authority to adjust a player’s Handicap Index under any circumstance that it feels necessary to do so. Before an adjustment becomes effective, the Handicap Committee must give the player an opportunity to explain the circumstances surrounding the proposed adjustment, either in writing or by appearing before the committee
• Handicap cards are available on line and in the January issue of FORE magazine.
• SCGA/GHIN handicap revision is done on the 1st and the 15th of every month.
• ERGC observes no inactive season
• The Tournament committee will post ERGC tournament scores to GHIN for you
• All tournaments played at Elkins Ranch start at 7:30 a.m. unless otherwise noted
SCRAMBLE HANDICAP PROCEDURES
For handicap purposes, it is fairest – but not required if each team consists of an A, B, C & D player (based on established handicap classes). The following percentages of Course Handicaps are used: A20%; B15%; C 10%; D 5%. If teams consist of just two players, the following percentages of Course Handicaps are used: A35%; B 15%.
Tournament Committee reserves the right to make changes to dates, times and tournament formats at any time. This schedule overrules all previous versions.
ERGC RAIN POLICY
All ERGC Tournaments are to be played on the scheduled date as long as the course is open for play. It is the player’s responsibility to call the course and make sure they are allowing play. If the course is allowing play, but, not allowing the use of electric carts players can opt out of the tournament and their fee will be refunded. Under those circumstances the tournament format will change to individual net and the remaining players will be regrouped. Players will turn in their signed score cards to an ERGC board member or if a board member is not available with the person on duty in Pro Shop at the end of the round. Final results, scoring and skins may be delayed. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.
ERGC PACE-OF-PLAY POLICY
If a tee group turns in their scorecard(s) to the scorer more than 20 minutes after the immediately-preceding tee group, a 1-stroke penalty will be assessed against each player/team of that tee group. If a tee group turns in their scorecard(s) to the scorer more than 30 minutes after the immediately-preceding tee group, a 2-stroke penalty will be assessed to each player/team in that tee group. The Tournament Committee will have discretion to apply the rule in unusual circumstances beyond a tee group's control (i.e., a foursome following a threesome). DEFAULT
TEES FOR TOURNAMENTS
Players play from the blue tees except that players 65 and older may play from the white tees if they request (and their course handicap will be adjusted accordingly, please see USGA Rule 3-5) except for certain SCGA qualifying events (i.e. 4-Ball Qualifier & Club Championship) wherein all players play from the blue tees. Once a player has designated playing from the white tees, they will remain on the white tees as a default for tournaments unless and until they request to play from the blue tees again. Any player playing white tees in any event will have a WH show next to their name on the tee sheet. Anyone playing from the incorrect tees (whether blue or white) shall be disqualified from that event.
